I looked underneath and what I think is a knock sensor is above a subframe ...That has nothing to do with coolant. In fact, coolant almost CAN'T leak into your upper intake because the gasket doesn't seal any coolant at all. The only places coolant flows in your pic is the large (orange o-ring - coolant outlet) and the small (yellow o-ring - TB coolant port) The RWD 3800's have no UIM leak issue like the FWD motors.Have an 03 Impala LS 3800 @ 117K miles. Is 11 lb ft still the correct …wow thats a long time for lim gaskets. last time out i was done in less then 2 hrs. that gas leak. pull the fuel rail back off, check the o rings for damage. replace if needed. clean the holes in the heads if you didnt already, oil the new o rings before rolling them on the injectors, then re oil before you push them back in the heads.The issue of LIM gaskets on the NA SII 3800 engine regardless of GP year '97-'03 is not whether they will go bad or cause issues but just a matter of when.
