Many guns released as plain-jane are being dressed up as more expensive models. There is no way to know how a 9422 was released. This happens across the model range but I know of a 9422 builder in CT.Both of my 9422 rifles are so much smoother than my older worn-in 39A's. They are completely different mechanisms obviously, but when you have them apart you can see why the 9422 is so smooth. The Henry is smooth too, I have shot my friends Octagon model, however the 9422 is slicker and smoother.
